A very nice software that uses my download capacity up to the limit. Very user friendly, easy to understand and simple to operate. I suggest everybody to use this free one. No need to purchaise any other program instead of Download Express.

Just a note to let you know how much I appreciate the free Download Express. I have tried for a week to download a large file and was disconnected several times before the download was complete. The download manager that I have did not allow for resume. After calling the server, I learned that the connection termination was integrated into their system and they were unable to help me. However they suggested aquiring a good download manager by using Google, which I did. By using the MetaProducts Download Express I was finally able to download the product file that I needed. Thank you so much for the free service and I will highly recommend your site.

I must say I am impressed with the stability and speed of MD and OEPro. Down here in South Africa, we still rely on dial up links for Internet connections, so running at 56Kbps means a good download manager is an essential tool. I have been using Getright for many years, but find it increasingly unreliable lately. Your products give the feeling of being very well engineered. I am currently downloading a 600Meg Linux Iso Image, Download Express has been running for four days without missing a beat (or a byte ;-) at a steady 4.8KB/s on my modem connected at 44000kb/s.

I think this is the best downloading software. I was first frustrated with pop-ups and all that stuff you get while downloading without any downloading software when I was new to Internet. My friend asked to use DAP which is said to speed up downloads 300% faster. But it was no better than direct downloading. I once came across a site which was recommending firefox browser instead of Windows IE.I had faith in firefox as I had experinced the differnce.That site had recommended Download Express.I was delighted that this DE didn't have that pop-up inside the downloader like in DAP.I tested Download Express with DAP in downloading small downloads in KBs and MBs (simutaneously keeping none as default downloader). And was delighted to find that DE won and was completing 2% of download ahead of DAP. Moreover DE is can be pluged into Firefox. I think Download Express is the best downloader.

I've been very happy with Download Express, and recommend it often. It is a great program.

For example last night it let me download the latest distribution of KnoppMyth (a full CD sized Linux distribution bundled with a TIVO like rogram) in 16 minutes.

As a straight, and I think fair comparrison, via BitTorrent with more than 20 seeders, the same file took 38 minutes.

Great compliments for the mozilla browsers' plugin. With this plugin I found the Mass Downloader and Download Express are the most stable download managers for Firefox.

I just wanted to let you know that I very much like the Download Express 1.5. It`s fast, efficient and easy to use. Nice work, MetaProducts!

I just wanted to say how much I like the Download Express program. I`m using it with Firefox (with DownloadWith extension) and it`s really easy to use it. Not to mention extreme download speed and corruption free downloads (many other downloaders corrupt parts if the file is very big). It also doesn`t need to be resident in order to do its job.

Excellent Software !!! I found at it the ultimate and most simple way to download from the internet. Extremely fast, reliable, with a quite friendly colorfull UI (user interface) and surprising low license charges (for those who would like to use it for commercial purposes or would like to take the advantage of the advanced options.) Multilingual support is a "great plus" !!!

Master of Disaster

No, no, it’s not what you might probably have in mind. What I am talking about is a little download manager that has saved me some severe headaches: Download Express from Meta Products.

I’m writing these lines because I believe that this software really deserves a bit more attention. Yes, I know, you can’t get enough of your Mess-up-my-Download Accelerator Plus and the like. But some day, you will wake up and see that your messy tool isn’t what you thought it was – instead of speeding up your download, it just makes it slightly slower than with the download tool that comes with Windows. But of course, you might like the ads and spy-ware in general. Not to speak of the fact that it often doesn’t even get the correct file extension.

It’s refreshing to know that Download Express is different. Yes, it looks very simple when you open it. But do great tools have to be complicated? Hardly. Under the hood is unequaled power. During a 200 – megabyte – download there was a power outage. The download was 75% complete, but there were still five hours to go with my dial-up modem. I thought: “That download has had it!” because I was soooo accustomed to Mess-up-my-Download Accelerator Plus. The surprise came soon: it downloaded the installer with no problem.

But how did I get to that tool? Well, first I tried that messy thing, which couldn’t save the correct file extension. By the way, the estimated download time was 32 hours. Then I tried it with the Windows download tool, which went up to 29 hours download time (observe that the Windows download tool was 10% faster, although DAP advertises to be up to 300% faster than Windows or other download managers). I was disconnected after some hours, so I searched for a download manager at www.webattack.com . From all the available tools, I found Download Express to be most appropriate and downloaded it. Soon I started my mega-download at an estimated download time of 19 hours – 13 hours faster than the screw-ware. Now, isn’t that something?

With a bit over 400 KB it’s much smaller than its competitors. Hey, there is no need for a help file as it’s very simple to use. Go to their web site and see which benefits you get if you register. In my opinion, this is not only one of the best tools out there: it is the best tool. I’m a programmer myself and need to make large downloads frequently. So I can say that it’s a) a very reliable tool, and b) made by some very competent programmers, and c) made by very responsible people – no ads, no spy, and no unhandled exceptions.

From now on, I will be testing this software and suggest improvements if appropriate. I wasn’t invited do so, but I will because if a great tool can get even better, then it’s worth the effort.

Download Express is a fantastic tool. During a 200-megabyte download, there was a power outage, but Download Express handled even this. Really a great tool! By the way, why do others still use spyware (Download Accelerator)?

I installed Download Express 1.5 and have been using it the last several days. I am *very* impressed. Thanks for making this terrific software available. I develop freeware software, and really appreciate being able to find quality software for little or no cost.

I have evaluated several `free` download managers, and I must say that yours is the fastest I have come across. After using it for a while to become familiar with the many different functions it has impressed me to the point of recommending this download manager to all my friends and business acquaintances. For a FREE download manager it works quite well if you set the download threads to ten (10). Thank you very much.

I just wanted to say how fast, easy and reliable this Download Manager is. I tried using another FTP program and every 5 minutes I would have to restart the download. I did have resume support and it took forever, I ran that FTP server and started Download Express a few hours later and I was shocked when Download Express completed the same download while the other FTP program was at 50%+. Keep up the good work.

I try ReGet, FlashGet, GetRight Download Manager program, but your Download Express is absolutely BEST ! ! ! and most easy to use.

Download Express is as simple as great! The only freeware download manager I will use!

I have tried so many downloaders for speed and only one version of fresh download was close. However the product was a terrible drain on resource. Your product is not a drain at all and you answered questions for me right away. Thank you for a product worthy of acclaim. P.S. AND VERY FAST

AMAZING! I spent HOURS trying to download an application, but it kept timing out. I search for a "Resume Download" program - find Download Express - and watch the jaw-dropping functionality in the interface as the file I wanted downloaded in less than 3 minutes!

I can`t believe this is free! There must be a catch somewhere !!!!

After having testing DE for a week or so, i must say to your credit, this is a wonderful great lil` software that overtakes great names in the field (such as DAP, MassDownloader and other big names) to which i have used and tested myself. And say what? it`s small? it`a easy to use? it`s not complicated? it works better than the big guys? it`s all true but also it`s F R E E and even if it wasn`t it`s well rewarding. Even more rewarding than the software i already paid for it.

And this is all i have to say about it - i believe you have the same response from other users. And with this optimistic feeling i bid you farewell and wish you good luck with the rest of your products (which i am now reviewing carefully to get a general idea of what you`re selling).

Cool. I would also like to add, to help put things into perspective, that your program is without a doubt one of the best programs I`ve come across. It`s one of those programs that you ask yourself: "How did I ever get by without this one"? So I just wanted, as I said, to put things into their proper perspective.

Unobtrusive, bug free,free and reliable. Starts on it`s own and easy to use,one of the best software programs I own, brought or free.

Just to tell you DE is still doing what it was meant to: it gets the job done NOW! Never have had a moment`s trouble with this program - every download is a triumph. It still maintains an average speed of about 5.5/sec whereas the XP default downloader very seldom gets above 2.5/sec. Excellent profuct - any updates???

Dear Support Team at MetaProducts, I have by your kindness and generosity - and by a lot of intellectual application by the looks and results of the it - produced what I can only say is a FIRST-CLASS Downloader, and the best and fastest I have ever seen. Words fail me when I want to tell you what a marvelous creation this is!!! Congratulations on a fine piece of work! I have Meta Download Express v1.3 [downloaded from freeware arena.com] - is there an updated or Beta version available, because it can only be better if there is. Express v1.3 downloads with such speed and perfection, I just can`t believe it! Well done.

I want to thank you for your download express. It fixed a problem I have had for months with Windows 98. Any time I tried to download an exe program I would get a note "No program available for this type program." Many `help` instruction were available on the net for the problem; but, I could find one that was applicable to the OEM version of Windows 98.

I found your program and thought it might help. I tried to download your program. Alas, it was and exe program and would not download!!! I went to my wifes computer and downloaded your program and then transferred it by floppy to my computer. It corrected (or by passed) the problem and I can now download exe programs again.

Thank You - I suggest that you might consider also providing the program in zip format so people with my problem can download the program and use it to fix this problem.

I also appreciate the detailed tracking of the download stats. I have not had occasion to restart an interupted download - but; I`m confident I will have a use for that feature soon with the way the internet is becomming crowded and occasionally shuts you down for no good reason.

I recently had to reformat my computer due to a nasty bug. I had been using the Download Express, and liked it very much. I found it so useful that it was the first thing I downloaded when `re-inventing my wheels` after the re-format. It is an excellent product. Everyone should try it - they`d keep it.

As is its ease of use, for downloading files from the internet. I like your product. Is there an 'upgrade', and if so which one...This is strictly for home-use and an occasional download.
