FindMySoft.comThe problem with installing more and more programs on your Windows- powered computer is that some if not most of them will automatically run at startup. If once your computer booted up lightning fast, because multiple applications run at startup now, your computer takes forever to boot up. There are two things you can do to prevent this slowdown headache. You can uninstall the applications you no longer need. You can easily uninstall applications from the Control Panel. That would be the first thing you can do – but what about the applications that you don’t want to uninstall? You can use a specialized piece of software to control which applications run at startup. Such a specialized piece of software is the MetaProducts Corporation- developed and aptly named Startup Organizer. Get this application and you will have quick access to all the programs that automatically run at startup. From the simple, easy to use interface of Startup Organizer you can choose which applications you want and which applications you do not want to run at startp. If you are the only one who uses the PC, take advantage of the functionality Startup Organizer has to offer and control which applications run at startup. If you share the PC with others, you can use Startup Organizer to control which applications run at startup – for your account and for the accounts of the people you share your PC with. Say you share your computer with your younger brother. You can specify which applications automatically run when you log in, and which applications automatically run when your brother logs in. Furthermore, you can choose the order in which to run the applications that run at startup and you can set a delay when applications are set to run consecutively. Startup Organizer comes with an interesting feature called Controlled Startup. What this feature does is it allows you to skip certain program during startup by simply holding the Shift key pressed when logging on. Shift is the default key Startup Organizer uses; you can change it to any hey you want if Shift is not to your liking. Another interesting feature Startup Organizer has to offer is StartUp Guard which takes a look at all the applications that run at startup and informs you of any suspicious behavior. The bottom line is this: Startup Organizer is an easy to use tool with an intuitive interface that you can use to control which applications run at startup and to specify the exact sequence in which to run applications at startup. If applications that run at startup are slowing down your computer, use Startup Organizer to speed your PC up again. Pros

Spywareinfo.com has revieved Startup Organizer 2.5You may have noticed your computer becoming slower and slower to start up and slower to operate as time goes by. Even after checking for and removing any viruses and spyware, the computer will become slower than it was right after you brought it home. What causes that? Among other things, the biggest reason for this might be that far too many programs are loading at start up. We do have programs for use at our message board to help us see what is starting up on a spyware victim`s computer. Unfortunately, some of these programs are not friendly to inexperienced users. Startup Organizer makes it extremely easy to manage the software set up to load when your computer restarts. Startup Organizer looks like Windows Explorer. All of the locations from which software can load is listed on the left in a directory tree. Click on any location to see what files are loading from that location, whether it be the startup folder or from the registry. Programs that load at start up will be shown on the right as if they were files in a folder. You can disable programs that you do not want loading at start up. You can add programs which you do want to load at start up. If you install a program and it loads up when other users on the computer log into their account, you can alter it so that it loads only when you log into your account. If you want it to load no matter who logs in, or even if no one logs in, you can do that also. If someone else on your computer has installed a program which they use on their account and it annoys you by loading when you log into your account, you can alter it to load only for that particular user. If you have a lengthy list of programs loading at start up, they can fight with each other for the CPU and hard drive and slow the entire computer down with each reboot. Startup Organizer lets you set programs to run in whatever order you want so that they are not fighting with one another. You can even make the computer restart with nothing loading at all. That is useful if you are installing system updates and have to reboot often. |

Download.com Review of StartUp OrganizerDownload.com Review of StartUp OrganizerAlthough many utilities allow you to control which programs launch when you start your computer, this one offers far more options for control. For instance, you can stop some applications from launching by using the Ctrl key for an extra-fast start-up. The interface is handy, automatically generating a list of programs that launch during start-up for all users on a certain computer. If you want to move applications among users, you can do so via simple drag-and-drop transfers. StartUp Organizer also helps you fight malicious programs that launch without your permission, checking for common threats such as EXE parameters changed by Trojan horses. The program also can continuously monitor settings and automatically remove start-up items added by other programs. However, the utility consumes a bit too much memory in this mode. In case of problems, the backup feature rolls your PC back to the last acceptable configuration. Average home users could benefit from this program, but it will be especially useful to system administrators. |

StartUp Organizer V1.1 review at Tucow - 5 cowsStartUp Organizer is simply that! It links into the registry editor and MS-config feature on every Windows box, which is beyond cool (if you know what you are doing). If you are a basic user, read about everything there is on this program and what it can do. Although basic users will have to read up on the program before using it, StartUp Organizer is a utility you can`t live without if you are constantly trying out new programs. |

ZDNet Reviews StartUp Organizer v1.0 wins 5 StarsWe`ve reviewed several utilities that let you manage the programs that automatically launch when Windows boots up, but none have impressed us like StartUp Organizer. This well-crafted tool makes use of an intuitive double-paned Explorer-like interface to let you work with both the obvious (StartUp folder entries) and hidden (items launched behind-the-scenes from the Registry or other system files) startup apps. Delete leftover "junk" pointers or add new links with ease. Temporarily disable an autostarted application just by unchecking it. Multiple configurations can be backed up. You can even move some of the autostarted programs to the Controlled Startup category to speed up system initialization when necessary. Quick access to the Registry editor, system editor, and startup folders is provided should you feel the need to tinker further. Even if you like the fairly decent Windows 98/Me System Configuration Utility, StartUp Organizer deserves a look. This is a 30-day trial version. |
