MetaProducts Corporation has released LightPad v. 3.2, a Windows 95/98/Me/NT4/2000/XP editor for web developers and webmasters that increases the speed and accuracy of web site creation. Whether your web site is written completely in HTML or includes Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), JavaScript, PHP or Perl programming, LightPad will let you develop and preview web pages quickly and easily.

In the past, web developers had to choose between writing web pages from scratch using a simple text editor or turning control over to an HTML program that often generated bloated code that ran slowly and was difficult to maintain. LightPad`s toolbars are user configurable. Similarly, the CSS, JavaScript, PHP and Perl toolbars have the most commonly used objects, functions and operators for each language. Less popular language elements are also available from drop-down menus. You can easily create your own lists of commands and frequently-used words and phrases.

You can preview web documents on the fly using the internal browser, or LightPad will auto-configure your system to work with any combination of Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator, Opera and Mozilla. The program even auto-saves your file when you preview it.

LightPad supports files up to 4MB and allows you 1,024 levels of undo. LightPad features syntax highlighting for each language. You can customize the user interface, choosing screen colors and font attributes. The program has special text routines that let you convert case, strip HTML and eliminate multiple spaces. LightPad`s user interface can be viewed in English, French, Italian, Spanish, Russian and Ukrainian.
