MetaProducts Corporation has released Mass Downloader version 2.0, a Windows 9x/NT4/2000/ME application that minimizes the time it takes to download individual files or lists of files from the Internet and from FTP sites.

Mass Downloader is a standalone program that supports multithreading, allowing it to download more than one program at a time and maximizing your bandwidth. You can set up a project and define the HTTP and FTP files that you want to download, or Mass Downloader will monitor your clipboard for file URLs and accept drag-and-dropped filenames from your browser. If your connection is broken during a download, the program will reconnect and resume downloading where it left off.

If the file you`re downloading is a ZIP archive, Mass Downloader will let you preview the archive and select only those files that you wish to download. The program`s built-in scheduler lets you automatically retrieve files on a regular basis. Mass Downloader`s built-in dialer can even close the connection and shut down your computer when transfers are complete.

New features in version 2.0 include a category tree, more toolbar buttons for easier navigation, HTTPS protocol support, improved FTP support and improved MS Internet Explorer context menu support for easier downloads.
