STARTUP ORGANIZER TESTIMONIALS

Jim Ignatowski, Cnet user review     http://download.cnet.com/StartUp-Organizer/3000-2124_4-24061.html

Pros: The best features are the Controlled Startup function along with the ability to set the initial program execution priority. The online support is also excellent

Cons: Nothing that I can think of

Summary: There are dozens of startup manager type utilities that allow you to view, add or remove items from your Windows startup lists. What makes Startup Organizer unique, and well worth the price, is the Controlled Startup feature along with the ability to set the initial execution priority for controlled, i.e., delayed startup programs. By moving autostarted programs under Controlled Startup, you can control when each program starts, thus insuring that your most important programs will start first. This dramatically reduces the usual bootup time overload. Moreover, setting the execution priorities allows you to insure that your most critical programs always get top priority. Overall, a first rate product

Very responsive support is also provided with the product.

Be sure to check the company web site for the latest versions. At least 2.9.313 is recommended

I am sort of a MetaProducts addict :-)) :
Offline Explorer Pro (since Web Downloader)
Mass Downloader (since v1.2)
Picture Downloader (since v1.3)
MailChecker (since v1.0)
AutoDialogs (since v1.0)
TrayIcon Pro (since TrayIcon Explorer 1.2 and TrayIcon Menu 1.0)
Startup Organizer (since v1.2)

TrayIcon Pro, Mass Downloader and Startup Organizer are in use every day (auto-loaded with Windows) and saved my life more than once!

Keep up your excellent work! I have always appreciated the no-nonsense no-bling-bling appearance of MetaProducts' tools.

I really do love the product - especially the controlled startup. I have a software VOIP Phone that autostarts - but if I am doing some maintenance and have to reboot more than once it is great to be able to "control" on startup whether it actually runs or not....

Also, great for managing all the darn startups created by every blasted software installation - especially iTunes, Quicktime, and the others.

This is a fine application that allows you to manage all of the files that try to load whenever Windows starts up. Startup Organizer will help you delete, clean-up and ultimately control these items, thus saving you time and sparing your computer`s precious resources. The program instantly detects the items that are configured to load, even if they don`t appear in Windows` StartUp folder. You`ll be amazed with the number of files, especially those related to software you may have uninstalled months ago. You can then right-click to remove items from both the Startup menu and the Registry. Conversely, you may manually add items that you would like to load at startup.

Startup Organizer`s excellent interface features an Explorer-style preview for configuring startup items in the startup menu, Registry (Run Once, Run Service, etc.) and Win.INI. In addition to adding and removing files, you can temporarily disable the ones you don`t immediately need. The program`s Controlled Startup feature allows you to skip certain programs from startup by simply pressing a hotkey as Windows loads.

Startup Organizer offers one-click access to Windows system tools for further configuring your system. You can also manually edit important files such as the Autoexec.bat, Config.sys, Win.ini, boot.ini. While this should be reserved for advanced users, the program does feature a built-in backup and restore function. This shareware version is fully functional, but expires after 30 days.

Viruses like the one discussed above are just another reason to have StartUp Organizer "watching" my NT Registry Startup keys.

This is a feature that may not be obvious to some. You should list it as an advantage of using StartUp Organizer.

Even if you had a virus program installed, if it did not know about the virus yet, you would not be protected. But StartUp Organizer would altert you right away that something was added to the Startup group.
